Academy Awards Officially Pushed Back to April 2021
The 93rd Academy Awards has officially been pushed back to April 2021 due to the ongoing concerns with the coronavirus pandemic.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the award ceremony will no take place on April 25, 2021, almost two months later from its originally scheduled date of February 28.
As a result of the date change, the eligibility of potential Oscar nominees has been extended to February 28, 2021. The original eligibility period was set for January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
The Academy said in a statement the ceremony is still currently slated to be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood and will air live on ABC.
