‘A Salute To The Songwriters’ Hosted By Luke Bryan Will Feature Natalie Hemby

Mark your calendar: this Saturday night at 8 pm ET, Luke Bryan is hosting a special a three-hour show that will air on our station:  “BMI Presents: A Salute To The Songwriters – Benefiting The MusiCares COVID 19 Relief Fund.”

Natalie Hemby is among the writers who will be featured; Natalie's songwriting credits include "Pontoon" from Little Big Town "White Liar" from Miranda Lambert, "Rainbow" from Kacey Musgraves, "Heartache Medication" from Jon Pardi "Always Remember Us This Way" from Lady Gaga (A Star is Born).

Hemby is a member of the Highwomen, a country music group twith Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires. In 2017, she released her first studio album, Puxico, named after the Missouri town where her grandfather lived, via the label GetWrucke Productions which she runs with her husband, music producer Mike Wrucke.

In 2014, she won the Nashville Songwriters Association International Awards "Song of the Year" honor for Miranda's "Automatic" as well as the 2015 Academy of Country Music "Song of the Year" also for "Automatic."

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
