Shawn Stevens is the midday host and program director of 107.9 Coyote Country.
Hailing from the Midwest, he’s made a career of entertaining audiences from St. Louis to Seattle. He won multiple Colorado Broadcasters awards while in Denver and has called Las Vegas home for over 6 years. Shawn is a creator of art, both on-air and in person, with a mastery of outdoor waterscapes and koi ponds. A man of many interests, Shawn creates content with a focus on Las Vegas living. He’ll let you know the best Las Vegas places to find Nashville’s top talent or best breweries in Sin City or he can help you create a relaxing desert oasis.
Shawn Stevens is a Midwest boy turned radio nomad who began his radio career in 1978 doing weekends and overnights at WRTH, St. Louis, while attending college for broadcasting. After college, the real radio journey began.
Shawn’s first full-time radio job was in Paris…Illinois. Less than a year later, he moved slightly east to begin his programming career in another French hotspot, Vincennes… Indiana. From there, it was off to the Wild West… Grand Junction, Colorado.
To say Shawn has lived the dream is an understatement. While on the air at 93QFM, he received a call from a Seattle Program Director who had enjoyed his show while crossing the state on Interstate 70. Shawn was offered a job over the phone, and without hesitation, he decided to make the market jump to Seattle.
While working at KXRX, Shawn was asked to transfer back to Colorado. In 1987, he was instrumental in launching Denver’s Kool 105, one of the nation’s leading Oldies stations. After several successful years, Shawn was lured to the Country format where he found his true passion.
In 1997, Shawn took his love of country music to Utah where he continued to strengthen his ties with the Nashville music community.
Shawn spent 20 years serving the people of Salt Lake City where he and his wife, Kimberly, established The Christmas Wish program, which provided Christmas gifts to thousands of children and much-needed hope to hundreds of families in need.
Shortly after the tragic events of 1 October, Shawn and Kimberly felt the calling to make Las Vegas their home. Thank you, Tom Humm. Music heals. Shawn is on a mission.
God, Country and Family.
