Garth Brooks appeared on his weekly chat with fans Studio G on Monday night (10/7) and at the top of his program, he briefly addressed the recent assault charges that he was accused of by a former makeup artist.

Garth told fans before he chatted about his Habitat for Humanity work and his Las Vegas residency, "A lot’s happened in the last two weeks. Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we? This thing is on, it’s gonna happen, and people are telling me it could be up to two years. OK? So, my suggestion is, well, take a deep breath, we all just kind of settle in, and let’s hold hands and take the trip together because it is something that we cannot talk about. That’s all we can say about it."

The country superstar concluded, "For those who joined us tonight to hear about that, I bid you a wonderful rest of your night, ’cause that’s the last we can say about it."

Brooks issued an official statement a day after shocking allegations of rape and sexual assault by a hair and make-up artist. He said that she is accusing him of "ugly acts" and it’s all for money.

According to CNN, Garth is being accused of rape and sexual assault.

Brooks's statement to the news network reads in full: "For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars."

“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another."

"We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”

As we reported earlier (10/3), Brooks is being accused of raping a woman at a Los Angeles hotel in 2019, according to various sources, including The Hollywood Reporter. A lawsuit filed by "Jane Roe" in Los Angeles Superior Court contains allegations of sexual assault, battery, and violations of California laws providing protections from intimidation and coercion.
