Miranda Lambert Animal Shelter Grant Goes To Emmylou Harris
Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation announced the “Miranda Lambert New Shelter Grant” in honor of Miranda, who co-founded the celebrated nonprofit with her mother, Bev Lambert, in 2009.
The Miranda Lambert New Shelter Grant is awarded in the spirit of giving a “paw” up to an organization that has recently opened after proving they’ve done the hard work necessary to achieve lift-off. The inaugural Miranda Lambert New Shelter Grants were awarded to two Tennessee organizations: Crossroads Campus and Wags & Walks.
Lambert said in a statement, “So many great people were there for me when I was getting started, people who believed in what I was doing, and it meant so much to me.”
She added, “I’m proud to be able to be there now for some of the great organizations that are just getting off the ground. I know how much passion and hard work goes into it – it starts as a dream, and the work is rewarding… and endless. I have so much respect for the people who make it happen.”

Crossroads Campus, which country legend Emmylou Harris founded, is located in Nashville and partners young adults who face barriers to employment and housing, including young people who have aged out of foster care, with shelter pets at risk for euthanasia.
Wags & Walks has helped find homes for over 3,500 dogs since it first opened its Nashville operation as a rescue in 2019.
The MuttNation Foundation Board of Directors created the Miranda Lambert New Shelter Grant to help more pets and the people and organizations who care for them while honoring Lambert’s lifetime of love and dedication to animals. There is no application process for the Miranda Lambert New Shelter Grant; recipients are selected by the Board of Directors.
MuttNation Foundation’s mission is to advance the adoption of shelter pets, promote spay and neuter, and assist during times of natural disaster.
