The groups will work together to designate elementary and middle schools for the pilot program, which will include lacrosse in the physical education curriculum. Back in the day, my four foot ten inch self (had a growth spurt in HS that shot me to five feet - that's where I stopped) probably would have preferred LaCrosse to Basketball. Might not have been good at it, but would love to have been exposed to it.

Erik Turner, a Desert Dogs defenseman and 2022 National Lacrosse League Champion, taught P.E. teachers the fundamentals of the game such as passing, catching, shooting, and ground balls.

P.E. teachers also learned about the sport's Native American history, the rules and regulations of various types of lacrosse, and the Desert Dogs organization according to a press release.

The Desert Dogs are in the midst of their inaugural training camp through the first week of December, before playing their first game on Friday, December 9 at Panther City in Fort Worth, TX. The Desert Dogs play their first home game against Panther City on Friday, December 16 at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Tickets for the Desert Dogs' first home game, season ticket packages, group tickets, merchandise, and camps are available online at LasVegasDesertDogs.com or by calling 702-818-DOGS.

The Las Vegas Desert Dogs ownership group includes Wayne Gretzky, Dustin Johnson, Steve Nash and Joe Tsai . They oversaw a comprehensive naming process that started at the franchise’s official introduction in June of 2021. The team considered over 2,000 fan submissions and conducted surveys throughout Las Vegas to eventually land on The Desert Dogs as the name and brand that would best represent the local community.

Here's is their full schedule.

The Desert Dogs hosted a junior clinic a couple months back - take a look at the short video:
