Last night's (6/9) CMT Music Awards in Nashville was full of first-time performances and collaborations to talk about.

While it wasn't easy, we picked the top five performances of the night.

5. Chris Young and Kane Brown's performance of "Famous Friends."

These guys are so natural together and what a great way to end out the show.

4. Mickey Guyton, BRELAND and Glady Knight's performance of "Friendship Train"

This was just epic when Gladys Knight joined Mickey Guyton on stage to perform along with newcomer Breland.

3. Lady A, Carly Pearce and Lindsay Ell perform "Like a Lady"

The opening number focused on the ladies in "Like A Lady" sung by Lady A, Carly Pearce, Lindsay Ell, and an all-female band.

2. Kelsea Ballerini and LANY's Paul Klein performing "I Quit Drinking"

The rain at the end of this performance was a real showstopper!

1. H.E.R. ft. Chris Stapleton performing "Hold On"

Without a doubt, Chris Stapleton's performance of "Hold On" with H.E.R., complete with guitar solos by both artists, was the highlight of the night.

In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
