Tom Cruise and NASA are teaming up to shoot a movie in space. Yes, outer space. CNN explains that NASA confirmed that Cruise would make a movie on the International Space Station. He will stay aboard the station, which is a multibillion-dollar laboratory that orbits about 250 miles above Earth. If completed, Cruise will be the first actor to endure this travel.

In a tweet, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, confirmed the project, saying, "NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA's ambitious plans a reality."

CNN adds that a handful of films have been shot onboard the space station, including a 2002 IMAX documentary. This was narrated by Tom Cruise. There is no word yet on how and when Tom Cruise will travel to the space station and who may join him.
