CNN explains that NASA confirmed that Cruise would make a movie on the International Space Station. He will stay aboard the station, which is a multibillion-dollar laboratory that orbits about 250 miles above Earth. If completed, Cruise will be the first actor to endure this travel.
In a tweet, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, confirmed the project, saying, "NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA's ambitious plans a reality."
