Las Vegas City Council Approves Soccer Stadium
Las Vegas sports is now possibly expanding to Major League Soccer!
Las Vegas City Council approved a proposal to make Cashman Field into a MLS stadium, according to channel 13 KTNV.
Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley has stated that he was looking for a MLS team for the city.
“I’m very interested in this and we are working on making it happen,” Foley told the Review-Journal. “I think we could be just as successful with soccer as we have been with hockey. We have all the infrastructure in place to make it very successful.”
Cashman Field was the former home of the Triple-A minor league baseball team Las Vegas 51’s.
It’s now home of the United Soccer League Championship team FC Lights.
FC Lights first made it’s debut in 2018.
