According to TechCrunch, Amazon Prime Monthly Members will be bumped from $10.99 to $12.99 - and the fee kicks in today for all new members that are subscribing.
Existing members, however, they are going to see the price change in their February 18 payment.
The plus for this? If you pay the $99 yearly fee up front rather than opt for the monthly fee, you will stay at the same price.
So, you're looking at $99 upfront or $156 for the whole year, depending on which plan you choose.
This change will also affect student accounts - a monthly $5.49 will jump to $6.49, while the yearly fee is $49 and will stay there.
So, if you're a monthly user, re-calibrate your monthly expenses! Don't want to see some accounts go in the negative for miscalculation!
