From the southern states to the mountains, Walker's music rocks major venues. He'll perform at the Grand Ole Opry on March 5, then make his way west for Colorado's Greeley Stampede in June. The tour wraps up on November 2 in Fort Myers.
Right before touring, Walker released "Cowboys In Heaven," a new song that plays into TV's current obsession with Westerns.
"I was so young, 22 or 23... 'What's It To You' was a great crossover song for a lot of people who were just coming into country music; youthful kids. To this day when we do that song, it's wild. I'll see 15-, 16-, 17-year-olds singing it at the top of their lungs," said Walker to WTOP.
Since 1993, Walker has scored eleven number-one hits. His music has generated forty chart appearances, beginning with "What's It to You." That initial hit was followed immediately by another chart-topper with "Live Until I Die."
His record sales speak volumes - four albums reached platinum with one million copies sold each. Two more hit gold, selling over half a million copies.
After his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in '96, Walker took action. He started the Clay Walker Foundation and hosts charity events at Pebble Beach to combat MS.
Staying connected to his Texas heritage, he performs at Houston's Livestock Rodeo. He also participates in cutting horse competitions, recently finishing seventh.
