Even though Garth Brooks has been in the news lately after being accused of rape by a former makeup artist (a charge he strongly denies), he’s been in the studio, working on what he does best: making music.

The country icon talked about some of the talented musicians he’s got in the studio with him this week on Studio G.

He said of one particular keyboard player, "We are in the studio! We haven’t had Bobby Wood get to play on a session in a long time because his wife, Janice, was struggling so much, and Bobby being the sweetest man on the planet, took care of her. He never could be away from her. We decided what we’d do is just book a session – for no reason – so Bobby Wood can get back to playing piano."

Brooks added, "We’re all having a great time. Then here’s the big news that you can spread out! The producer of the session is Allen Reynolds. Engineer? Mark Miller (his old producer and engineer). So we’re going to be here for a while!"

He explained, "For you guys who don’t know who Bobby Wood is, he’s the guy that played the front of ‘The Dance.’ If you’re a country music fan, (sings) ‘He said, “I’ll love you ’til I die.”’ That’s Bobby Wood. I’m trying to think of some other small song he’s played on…. Oh, yeah! (sings) ‘Sweet Caroline.' Man, this guy’s crazy [talented]."

Brooks appeared on his weekly chat with fans on Studio G earlier this month (10/7), and at the top of his program, he briefly addressed the recent assault charges that he was accused of by a former makeup artist.

Garth told fans before he chatted about his Habitat for Humanity work and his Las Vegas residency, "A lot’s happened in the last two weeks. Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we? This thing is on, it’s gonna happen, and people are telling me it could be up to two years. OK? So, my suggestion is, well, take a deep breath, we all just kind of settle in, and let’s hold hands and take the trip together because it is something that we cannot talk about. That’s all we can say about it."

The country superstar concluded, "For those who joined us tonight to hear about that, I bid you a wonderful rest of your night, ’cause that’s the last we can say about it."
