Carrie Underwood is from s small town in Oklahoma called Checotah. Carrie often shows her small-town skills when she posts all the vegetables and fruits she grows in her extensive garden at her home near Nashville, Tennessee.
Now that Underwood is off for a while after wrapping up her recent stint in Las Vegas, It seems gardening and farming her land are some of her favorite pastimes. Carrie even has a song on her latest album about getting her hands dirty called "Garden" on her latest album, Denim & Rhinestones.
She also has a song about loving her hometown from her 2012 Blown Away project called "Thank God For Hometowns." A few years back, Underwood told me about the song and how she related to the words. She said, "That line in the song 'Thank God for the county lines that welcome you back in when you were dying to get out.' Growing up in a small town in Checotah, that was the thing you thought about was getting away."
Carrie added, "I'm so glad I grew up there.and my parents still live there and I get to go back and visit and still be a part of the town. I can help the town out with my foundation and still be an active member of that town. It's full of good people and hard-working people."
