"Starting Over"
Chris Stapleton's fourth song in his was "Starting Over." About 70 seconds into the song, he stopped abruptly. The band followed his lead and also stopped playing. The house lights came on, and that's when Chris noticed something happening in the audience that made him feel uncomfortable.
Video of Chris Stapleton Kicking Out Rowdy Fan
According to fan Jason Berthiaume, who was standing five feet from the rowdy fan, here's what happened: "The guy that got kicked out had definitely been drinking and tried to push his was into the tightly packed crowd who had been there waiting to hear Chris for a couple [of] hours. As you can imagine, not much space to move, let alone a new person to enter who decided to show up late and drunk. When people wouldn't let him in, he decided to argue and tried to start a fight....you can imagine why we cheered when Chris actually saw what was happening and addressed it."
That's when Chris got on the microphone and said to them "We're all trying to have a good time. You do too. And if this is what you think's a good time then get the hell out."
He instructed his band to start the song "Starting Over," over. The crowd applauded Chris for stopping his set. Chris Stapleton is off to Syracuse, New York to sing the show that was rescheduled due to the Canadian Wildfires.
Chris Stapleton: His 40 Best Songs
As Chris Stapleton is about to release his long awaited fourth album, Starting Over, we decided to go through his discography -- his entire discography -- to figure out what his best songs are. So we pulled from his first three albums, plus the songs that we've heard, so far, from Starting Over. But we also reached back to his old rock band, the Jompson Brothers, and his ex-bluegrass band, the Steeldrivers. We also dove into his career as a songwriter for other artists, and pulled some of those songs, as well. So this list collects songs that were either written, or sung, by Chris (or both). Of course, once we hear the rest of the new album, we'll probably have to update the list!
