Luke Combs says he would never compare himself to Hank Williams Jr. and he has never met the country music icon, he does see some similarity in he and Williams' approach to country music.

Luke told us, "You know we've done a few Hank Jr. covers in our medleys and around the house and I've always enjoyed listening to his music because he's very unapologetically himself."

He continues, "I do think there are some parallels at least in subject matter like he can go from the rowdiest beer drinking thing you've ever heard o the like most sad, self-loathing thing you've ever heard."

Combs then added, "Man, I just love the beer drinking, fun part of country music. I think that's something that will never be lost on me. I'll never get sick of having a beer drinking honky tonk song. I'll never be afraid to write or do that. I don't think he was ever afraid of doing that either. He's also not afraid of showing how he's feeling, which I admire."

Luke's new song has a bit of that rowdy beer drinking fun in it, it's called "Lovin' On You."
