Kelsea Ballerini Leads Up-And-Coming Stars Through ‘Girl Crush’ At CMAs
While a number of legendary women opened the CMA Awards, another group had a memorable performance later in the show.
Kelsea Ballerini, accompanied only by her acoustic guitar, performed her hit “Prom Queen.” After she finished, she started singing Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” accompanied by Lindsay Ell on electric guitar. During the song, they were joihned by Runaway June, Maddie and Tae, Best New Artist winner Ashley McBride, Carly Pearce and finally, the members of Little Big Town.
As the performance ended, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild told the audience, “You’re lookin’ at the future of country music right here!”
