Andie read Ryann’s nomination live on the air this morning…

My name is Ryann Hendrickson, and I am a 34 year old Breast Cancer fighter from Phoenixville, PA. I am nominating myself 😊

This past March, after 2 years of infertility struggles, my husband and I got pregnant with baby #2, but we unfortunately suffered a miscarriage.  Five weeks later, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  I had a double mastectomy, completed an IVF cycle to freeze embryos immediately after, and then started 16 weeks of chemotherapy. I started Radiation therapy on Sept. 23, and my last treatment is coming up on 10/28. 

Cancer has taken a lot from me- my health, my hair, and the worst one- my fertility.  I cannot carry another baby because of my diagnosis, so we are now on a surrogacy journey for our rainbow baby.

This diagnosis rocked our world.  My family and I have endured a lot of pain this year, and it has been a struggle, especially having a 4 year daughter to take care of while fighting this ugly disease.  But I am fighting for her, because she needs me. Her name is Grace and She’s my purpose to beat this thing and to stay as positive as I can be, because she is always watching me.

I am blessed to have an army of supporters- family and friends.  Without them, I couldn’t have gotten through the last 6 months.  I can’t wait to call myself a survivor.
