Cup o’ Joy – Kidnapped woman rescued after she mouthed ‘help me’ to bystander
If you could see that someone was in trouble, would you do nothing or would you step in?
Well, this is a story about stepping in!
A couple in NJ were parked and having a conversation when a man approached the vehicle identifying himself as a police officer and told the couple they were breaking the law for being intimate in public. He then ordered the couple to pay him to avoid being arrested.
The man said he was armed and had the woman get in the backseat while he hopped in the passenger seat and told the man to drive to a nearby bank.
The car was followed by another vehicle driven by the accomplice.
While they were in the ATM vestibule, the woman mouthed “help me” to another woman that she saw in the parking lot, who then called police.
The 2 suspects were then arrested by police and charged with kidnapping, carjacking and robbery, and impersonating a police officer.
