Cup o’ Joy – Kid Makes Homemade Baseball Bats From Debris To Raise Money For Home Rebuilds
A huge storm hit Iowa this past August… Winds reached up to 140mph and left a ton of damage behind. 12 year old Tommy Rhomberg was driving around town with his family and saw people with their houses completely destroyed and he wanted to help somehow.
His best friend’s birthday party was cancelled because of the storm so he wanted to do some special for him… His friend’s favorite sport is baseball so why not a homemade baseball bat made from fallen tree limbs. This gave Tommy a brilliant idea.. .What if he repurposed tree branches that had been taken down in the storm—and turned them into bats for sale? Tommy knew just what to do with some of the money raised through his efforts: It could go towards helping storm victims rebuild.
