Lainey Wilson: ‘My Cowgirl Heart Could Explode’
Lainey Wilson enjoyed another career highlight weekend when she played the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Wyoming and brought her parents, Brian and Michelle, along for the ride.
Lainey shared the memory on her Instagram with a bunch of photos of her and her parents, along with an official rodeo belt buckle she was given and a throwback photo of herself when she was younger with her horse at the famous rodeo.
Wilson captioned the post, “@chefrontierdays (blue heart emoji) We found a pot of country gold at the end of the rainbow. My cowgirl heart could explode. What a full circle moment for me and my rodeo family…swipe to see a throwback.”

Wilson has been thinking about her new album, Whirlwind, which will be out on August 23. She recorded a video clip of herself on Instagram recently, talking about those people who have been there for her from the very beginning.
She said in the video, “I’ve been thinking about my ‘day one’ people, talking about people who have stood by my side and supported me when I didn’t have anything to offer except for a few songs and a big ole dream.”
Lainey continued, “Ya’ll, we are officially one month away from my album Whirlwind dropping. We have been working on this thing for over a year, and I am so glad our labor of love you can call is almost yours, almost.”
The country superstar explained while walking on her property, “I truly do think that this is the best record that I have ever done, and my band got to play on it. It seems like we all knew what was missing without even talking about it, and it’s so special. I mean, these are the guys from day one, so they’re the ones who started out [with] me in a flatbed of an F450. We had equipment strapped to the back. We went a million miles in a van, and I’ll tell you what: it was a big deal to get a van. BIG deal.”
She added, “But this record is really special to me for a lot of reasons, but having my boys on it makes it that much more special. And it only makes sense to have them play on a record named Whirlwind because they have been a part of my Whirlwind since day one.”
Wilson captioned the post, “Whirlwind drops in ONE MONTH from today. I am so proud of this record and can not wait for it to finally be in y’all’s hands!”
