We have some great camping locations in Nevada, and as it turns out, Nevada actually has the No. 1 most in-demand camping spot in America, according to experts. While I knew we were a great state for camping, I'm a little surprised, in a good way, to see that Nevada tops every other camping spot in America when it comes to popularity. However, that means it can be difficult to book time at this camping location, so you'll want to plan ahead.

Nevada Has the Most In-Demand Camping Spot in America

The Dyrt's 2024 Camping Report presented by The All-New Toyota Tacoma is out, and it shows that 45.5% of campers have reported having a difficult time getting a reservation at a campground over the past year. So, camping seems to be more popular than ever. "America is heeding the call of the wild," they add. "With an estimated 84.8 million Americans ditching city lights to sleep under the stars in 2023, it's clear that camping has never been more popular." In honor of these hard-to-book camping spots, the experts at The Dyrt have put together a tally of the Top 10 Hardest-to-Book Campgrounds in the U.S. "It's great that more people are getting outdoors and embracing the joy of camping," The Dyrt founder Sarah Smith said in a statement. "But now more than ever, it's important to really plan ahead and secure your campsite well in advance. The Dyrt makes it easy to monitor availability and track cancellations in real time so you can find a place to rest at some of the country's most beautiful locations."

What's interesting here is that the No. 1 most in-demand camping spot in America is a tie. As I already mentioned, one of them is in Nevada, and that's the Nevada Beach Campground, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Recreation.gov notes that this area is "minutes from the bright blue water of Tahoe's eastern shores, campsites are nestled in a sparse forest of pine trees and evergreen shrubs." They add, "The lake and its sandy beaches provides ample recreation opportunities and restaurants and casinos are just moments away." Also, tied for No. 1 is Twelvemile Beach Campground at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan. Recreation.gov notes that this spot " is a beautiful campground along Lake Superior located within the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore" and very close to Grand Marais. Here, you'll find 36 sites total. "Twelvemile Beach has water, pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and an interpretive amphitheater," they add.
