It's hard to forget that three years ago, on the Fourth of July weekend (July 3, 2021), Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were married on Blake's Oklahoma property in a church built just for the event.

Blake didn't miss the chance to toast his wife on Instagram. He shared a sweet photo of the couple dressed up, him in a black suit and her in a maroon dress. He captioned the photo, "Happy anniversary @gwenstefani! I love you!!!!!!!"

Many of Shelton's seven million followers wished the couple a happy day. One fan wrote, "Beautiful couple." Another fan commented, "Cheers to a lifetime of anniversaries."

Gwen posted several wedding photos from the big day on her Instagram to her 17 million followers on Instagram, writing, "July 3, 2021 (heart emoji) It has always been you."

Many of her die-hards reacted, including one who said, "Congratulations. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness." Another fan wrote, "I love you 2 together! What a beautiful family!!!!!"

Shelton is a true blue country music lover, and he has been since he was a boy growing up in Oklahoma. You don't have to spend much time with the country superstar to realize how deep his love of country music goes.

I learned that early on in his career; I've interviewed him a number of times over the years. He would often talk about legendary country artists, like Earl Thomas Conley, who he admired.

When Conley died in April 2019, Blake was a Hollywood star—of course, a judge on NBC's The Voice. But he quickly dropped everything to come to Nashville to pay tribute to his hero and friend, who scored so many hits songs in the 1980s.

In one of my interviews with Shelton a few years back, he told me that his day is filled with the music that he loves. "It's country music. I mean, I wake up in the morning, and the first thing I do…and people that have to live with me and be around me, it drives 'em crazy. First thing in the morning, I'll wake up, and I'll be listening to John Conlee or Keith Whitley or the Bellamy Brothers, you know, all those guys from the 1980s that I grew up listening to."

He added, "It just inspires me all over again, and I'm inspired every single day when I hear those records I've fallen in love with."

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
