I turned 40 in March, and one of the more unique gifts I received for my 40th birthday was the Manta SOUND Sleep Mask. It’s exactly what it sound like, a sleeping mask that has built in headphones inside of it! After using it for the last couple months, I’d like to share my thoughts about it with all of you!

As a 20+ year radio vet, audio has always played a big part of my life, and now because of this mask, it’s becoming a part in my sleep too! The SOUND mask combines the traditional benefits of a sleep mask with the added ability to pair it with your phone to listen to sleep sounds, podcasts, or any music apps you may want to use.

For me, it’s been pretty great because I’ve always loved using white noise to fall asleep but my wife doesn’t. So for the last couple months, I’ve been able to enjoy my sleep sounds without disturbing her.

What Makes Manta Different?

Besides having Bluetooth speakers inside of it, the Manta Sleep Mask is different than any other sleep mask I’ve used for a very specific reason! I think my favorite thing about it is just how comfortable it is to wear!

Every other sleep mask I’ve worn in the past has laid on my eyes, putting constant pressure on my eyelids and I’ve always hated it. However, all of Manta’s masks (The SOUND included) feature special eye cups that give you complete blackout without any eye pressure. Your eyes sit comfortably inside a pocket, if that makes any sense. My wife was even so impressed by the eye cups that she went on Manta’s website and ordered their Silk Mask for herself.

Another thing that’s impressed me is that the mask doesn’t get hot to wear. There’s enough ventilation in the materials, which keeps me comfortable throughout the night.

Let’s Talk About The SOUND In The Manta SOUND Sleep Mask

Obviously, if you decided to purchase the SOUND mask over all of Manta’s other products, you’re doing so for its integrated Bluetooth headphones. Just because the speakers are razor thin doesn’t mean they aren’t powerful! These puppies can get LOUD! So please keep that in mind if you’re thinking about picking up the mask. I’d hate for anyone reading this to hurt their ears because they fell asleep listening to something too loud.

The sound quality is pretty impressive as well! Especially when you consider how small the speakers are! They’re about the thickness of a silver dollar. They’re that tiny! The speakers also have convenient tabs to make it easy to slide/adjust to a position of your liking.

As for ease of use, the SOUND mask is pretty straightforward! The device only has 3 buttons, power and two volume buttons, which allow you to adjust the sound without taking off the sleep mask.

The Battery Life of the Manta SOUND Sleep Mask

The battery life has equally impressed me. Manta claims that the Bluetooth can be used for up to 20 hours, which is twice that of the leading competition. I’m pretty good about connecting it to a charger daily, but there have been a couple times where I forgot to charge it and it’s never been an issue. In fact, I used it the last two nights on the same charge and my sleep sounds app was still playing when I woke up this morning.

Also as someone who can’t sleep once the bedroom fills with sunlight, the complete blackout has helped me sleep in a little later than I’m used to. That might be a pro or a con, depending who you are, but I really think my body has needed the extra sleep because I’ve been waking up so refreshed since I’ve started using the mask.

My Final Thoughts on The Manta SOUND Sleep Mask

I really like this mask and I’m extremely happy that it was given to me as a gift, because I’m not sure if I would have pulled the trigger on the $143 price tag. However, if you have the disposable income, I couldn’t recommend this mask enough. It’s comfortable, it blocks all the light, the battery lasts a long time, and the speakers sound really good!

If speakers aren’t important to you, I’d totally check out their other masks. I know that their original design starts at $35 and the no pressure eye cups have been a total game changer for my wife and me.

Prime Membership Perks You Probably Didn’t Know About

I’ve been an Amazon Prime member for a few years now. And I’m still learning about the benefits and perks. For $14.99 per month or $139 per year, members can get free shipping on all orders. Subscribers join for the benefit of fast and free delivery on millions of items.

You may even be familiar with some of its other such as access to Prime Day deals and Prime Video. But other perks come with the membership that fly under the radar. What are the other benefits of a Prime membership?

Perks I Enjoy

If you ever need a last-minute gift and you’re unable to get out of the house or maybe you forgot something, they have free two-day shipping on eligible items. Put this with your free delivery and you’re pretty much set. You get unlimited deliveries with no minimum order size, and with millions of eligible items, the options are practically limitless.

Additionally, Prime offers same-day delivery on eligible items. Just in case, you’re really in a pinch.

Shopping for holidays is less stressful when you know you have early access and lightning deals. Amazon offers limited-time “Lightning Deals” to shoppers every day, but Amazon Prime members can access them 30 minutes before everyone else.

You can take advantage of the extra 30 minutes by looking for upcoming deals and selecting the “Watch This Deal” option. If you do it in the Amazon App, you’ll get a push notification when the deal goes live, so you can snag the item before it’s available to non-Prime shoppers.

Streaming on Prime Video has been a game changer for me. I became a fan of shows like The Boys and Fallout through the platform. You can watch those, and a ton of other shows and movies, on your computer or the go with the Prime Video app, and download select titles to your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. My favorite thing to do is download movies or tv shows on the app before a flight and watch while I’m in the air.

There’s a bonus perk of members saving 20% on eligible subscription items. That includes things you find yourself ordering regularly, like probiotics or diapers.

Perks You Probably Didn't Know You Could Get with Your Amazon Prime Membership

While those are some of my personal favorites, more benefits often get missed by members. Take a look at some of the other benefits that come with an Amazon Prime membership below.

Grubhub+

Amazon is a great place to stock up on groceries and other essentials without having to leave the house. As a Prime member, you could also be saving some money the next time you want to order in for dinner. I didn't know that you can get a Grubhub+ subscription free for a year with your Amazon Prime membership. With this perk, delivery fees are waived on orders over $12, and service fees will be lower overall. If you're curious about how it works, take a look here.

Photo and Video Storage

Did you know that Prime members get photo and video storage as part of their membership? I found on by watching a video on social media. Amazon Prime members get unlimited full-resolution photo storage and five gigabytes of video storage with their subscription. This is a handy perk too. When using other storage platforms, you often run into the issue of having to pay for additional storage. I happen to take a lot of pictures so, this is a bonus.

Baby Registry Box

If you have expecting parents in your life, let them know about this one. Prime members can snag a baby registry box. Select members can get a free welcome box when they create a baby registry for more than 10 unique items and make $10 worth of purchases. Make sure to read the fine print. Shipping and tax don't count toward the amount, and neither do gift card purchases.

Cash Back

Prime membership already offers a direct way to save on your purchases by providing free shipping. The subscription also has free two-day shipping available on eligible items. But one perk that's often missed is cash back with a co-branded Visa credit card. The Prime Visa card is a fee-free card. Members earn 5 percent cash back on Amazon, Whole Foods, Amazon Grocery, and Chase Travel; 2 percent back on gas, restaurants, and commuting costs and 1 percent everywhere else. Cardholders can often get 6 percent cash back if they opt for slower shipping and 10 percent on select sale items. Some users will also receive an Amazon gift card worth up to $100 when they enroll.

Prime Gaming

Gaming anyone? Access to Prime Gaming is just another one of the perks that comes with your membership. Just by being a Prime member, you can get your hands on exclusive in-game loot and free monthly PC games. It also includes a free monthly Twitch subscription that you can use to support your favorite streamers. I'm not much of a gamer but now, I want to look into this a bit more.
