It’s pretty crazy to think that the Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is going to be turning 20 this year, and to celebrate two decades in the Las Vegas valley, they’re planning some pretty big things all summer long!

I do want to say thanks to our friend Kelly Frey, of KFPublicity, for providing us with this information via press release – but man, there are some cool things in the works at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas this summer!

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas Brings Back An Ole’ Favorite

If there’s one thing that Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is known for, it’s beer. And one of my personal favorites, the dark wheat, has made its glorious return! Unfortunately, it’ll just be for a limited time through the end of summer, so if you’re a fan of dark beers, don’t miss it! The best way to describe Hofbräuhaus’s Dunkel Weizen is by calling it rich. They use a distinctive fermentation process, and it truly has a uniqueness to its flavor! I love it, but then again, I’m a huge fan of dark beers. If you’re the same, you’ve got to try it out!

How Long Could You Hold A Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas Stein?

Forget about Mr. Olympia, this summer it’s all about Mr. (And Mrs.) Hofbräuhaus! Every Friday and Saturday evening until July 27th, you can take part in the stein holding contest! The best part is that the regional winner will win a trip to New York City to compete in the national finals! As of today, the current record is 5 minutes and 7 seconds. Think you can beat it?

6 Things That Are “Normal” In Las Vegas But Not Anywhere Else

When you think of Las Vegas, what comes to mind first? Common answers include tall casinos, desert, hot weather, bright lights and showgirls. And all of those answers would be correct. When it comes to visiting Vegas, many have the bucket list dream to "live life to the fullest." Activities to accomplish that goal usually include filling our intestines with alcohol, window shopping at fancy stores and seeing residencies shows from our favorite artists. Vegas is a city where coloring outside the lines is considered normal. But then again, what is normal?

Las Vegas Is A Cultural Melting Pot

Living in Vegas is completely different than visiting. Vegas is home to people of all kinds. The cost of living is somewhat affordable before all of the Californians and Texans started moving here. The Entertainment Capital of the World is truly unlike any other spot in the country. We don't have seasonal weather and you don't visually see typical weather changes like fall or spring. What you will feel is your blood thin from the desert air and your skin dry from the heat. The worst! We have your average malls, parks, hospitals, schools and convenient stores but we what we do have that many other cities don't will be shared in a list below.

Social Media Poll; What Is "So Vegas" Unlike Anywhere Else?

We reached out on social media to see what you thought was typical Vegas. We received many answers that included convivence factors of many things. As a city who operates 24/7, we truly never sleep. We don't implement certain rules regarding alcohol and gambling. We also pair entertainment activities in Vegas where other states house them separately. Vegas is a place for fun but within great reason. Enjoy the list below and let us know on social media if we should add anything to the list.

No Last Call

Las Vegas is a 24/7 city. Most bars here do not have a last call. You can drink as long as they are serving liquor.

"You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."

Open Drinking On The Strip / DTLV

In Vegas you can carry and drink alcohol outside on the Las Vegas Strip and on Fremont Street Experience. Many other cities this is a big no-no.

Gambling Room In Grocery Stores

Most grocery stores may have a coffee shop of some kind but does yours have a gambling hall or room? Some of Vegas' older grocery stores have areas where locals and visitors over 21+ can gamble.

Watching Movies / Go Bowling At Casino

Many other cities have their own buildings for movie theaters and bowling allies. Vegas has a few separately owned movie theaters but the majority of them are in casinos or malls. All of the bowling lanes are located inside casinos, bars or concert halls.

Open Gas Stations In The AM Hours

Many gas stations, not all, stay open in Vegas and don't close. You can walk in buy alcohol, a Gatorade or a Snickers Bar at 3 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Certain Restaurants / Chains

Pinkbox Doughnuts is only in Las Vegas kind of... They have one location in St. George, Utah, but that's close enough. They have 10 locations in total across the Vegas Valley.

The Peppermill Las Vegas is a staple restaurant with great tasting American Food. The restaurant been featured on CSI: Vegas.
