Henderson Seeing Red, Install Dozen Red Light Indicators
We aren’t saying anything you didn’t know, but the drivers in the Las Vegas valley aren’t great. There are so many speeders, non-insured drivers and how many people have you seen driving at night with their lights off? But one of the biggest sore spots is the sheer number of red light runners in the valley. The City of Henderson has had enough, but they haven’t seen enough. Until now, as they have installed a dozen red light indicators throughout the city.
The installation of red light cameras in the valley has come up quite a bit lately. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sheriff Kevin McMahill has made it clear that he wants to see the cameras installed. Both to catch the baddies in the act, and potentially stop the acts in the first place. That said, Henderson falls outside of Metro’s jurisdiction and made their own decision to put indicators up.
These indicators aren’t cameras, but allow officers posted up downstream from the intersection to get a better look at whether a driver crossed the line during a red light. Then the officer can pull them over further down the street.
Where Are These Dozen Red Light Indicators In Henderson?
Why do you want to know where the red light indicators are, eh? Were you planning on running red lights and didn’t want to get caught? Maybe Henderson has a point. Alas, we have laid out where these indicators are in an easily searchable way. Here are the streets in alphabetical order where you will find indicators installed at intersections. You’ll see each indicator counted twice so you get each side of the intersection.
