UFC 306 Announced For Mexican Independence Day At Las Vegas Sphere
The Las Vegas Sphere will be the home to UFC 306! And it’s happening the weekend before Mexican Independence Day!
Hopefully when the UFC comes to the Sphere, it won’t get at rowdy as the event in Mexico City this past weekend. At this weekend’s UFC, a massive brawl broke out in the crowd. CEO and President of the UFC, Dana White, called the incident one of the wildest things he’s ever seen! White saying, “… I’ve never seen s*** like that in my entire life” at the press conference following the event.
White, referring to the fact that NOBODY stepped in to try and stop the altercation between the fans. If you’ve seen any of the clips that have been circulating the internet, you’ll notice that at no point does security intervene. They literally just let these grown men duke it out until it was finished. It was wild!
That being said, White also recently announced that UFC 306 will take place at The Sphere, inside Las Vegas, on Sept 14. It should be noted that UFC 303 will also be in Las Vegas. However, that pay-per-view will be held at T-Mobile Arena.
Cards for both events haven’t been made public yet. However, Dana White did promise that the PPV at The Sphere will be the biggest event in UFC history! And with the rumored return of Conor McGregor, UFC 306 could absolutely be the place he comes back!
McGregor, 35, has been out of the octagon since breaking his leg in 2021. The leg break happened during a fight with Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier. Conor was unable to continue, obviously, and Poirier won the fight, extending his record over Conor 2 fights to 1.
Fans Speculate Who Should Fight McGregor
If McGregor does return for UFC 306, fans are already wondering who he should fight. There’s no denying a fourth fight between Conor and Dustin would draw a crowd. However, the safe bet seems to be Michael Chandler. Chandler even got some mic time on a recent episode of WWE Raw and called out the Irishman.
The UFC has so many bright stars, so even if the McGregor rumors are untrue, there’s no denying the event will still be exciting.
