Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett To Headline New Year’s Eve Bash

Fresh off her People's Choice Country Awards wins, including one for Female Artist of 2023, Lainey Wilson has been announced as a headliner for Nashville New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash. The event will return to CBS in a new multi-year deal with the network.

The show brings together the biggest stars in country music for an "only-in-Nashville concert special" each year, and this year, Wilson, Thomas Rhett, and Lynyrd Skynyrd will all play on the main stage at Nashville's Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The special will air live on Sunday, December 31, at 7:30 pm ET on CBS and Paramount Plus.

The show's executive producer, Robert Deaton, said in a statement, "Building on what we have established over the last two years by focusing on our artists, the fans, and the vibrancy of downtown Nashville, this year's lineup is shaping up to be our most exciting yet. We will celebrate 50 years of the iconic Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, the skyrocketing Lainey Wilson and Thomas Rhett, with over a dozen artists and special guests still to be announced."

He added, "Nashville is quickly becoming THE destination for New Year's Eve, and we are honored that CBS wants to help us continue to show off our music and incredible city with a new multi-year deal!"

The Bicentennial Park stage is free and open to the public, and it is home to the famed Music Note Drop at midnight.

Wilson continues to seize her moment with nine as she tours constantly, both as an opener and a headliner. Lainey got a little downtime at her home in Nashville recently (9/19) and took to Instagram to celebrate one of her first successes.

In jeans, a tye-dye T-shirt, and a green trucker hat, Wilson says in her kitchen in an Instagram video clip as a song plays, "Whoa, September 19, 2021... 'Things A Man Outa Know' went number one two years ago today, and ever since, it has been a whirlwind, ya'll. Today, I am here at my house in Nashville, washing clothes and getting ready to hit the road again. There is no telling how many shows we have played since 'Things A Man Oughta Know' went number one. And ya'll still sing it at the top of your lungs every single dang night! Every night!."

Lainey then sighs and says, "I love ya'll. That was one of my first, most important, and biggest accomplishments in the music business. And it seems like one blessing after another has just flowed since that moment. I love ya'll." She then grabs her dog and holds him while she sings the song.

As she celebrates her 31st birthday today (5/19), Lainey Wilson is the reigning Female Vocalist for the ACMs and the CMAs. She also won the ACM Album of the Year award for Bell Bottom Country, beating out albums by  Miranda Lambert and Luke Combs.

There is no doubt that Lainey is well on her way to becoming a country music superstar. She currently opens stadium shows for Luke Combs and gets a performance slot at the 2023 CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium in June in front of 65,000 fans worldwide.
