Luke Grimes Admits He’s ‘Very Nervous’ To Get On Stage
Yellowstone actor Luke Grimes announced that he will be releasing an eight-song EP on October 20, Pain Pills Or Pews. Luke wrote six of the songs on the Dave Cobb-produced project.
Grimes will be heading out on the road to bring fans live performances of his songs this fall. He will also be performing for the first time at the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival on Sunday (9/24) in Franklin, Tennessee and he will be returning to Stagecoach in Indio, California in April 2024.
We talked with Luke earlier this week (9/19) and he told us that Stagecoach 2023 was a first and yeah, he was tense. He said, “Complete and utter terror the first few times (on stage), to be honest. Stagecoach was the first show we ever played. It’s a big stage to get on right away and that was not lost on me. I was very, very nervous.”
Grimes explained how the gig happened, “When I got the call ‘Do you wanna book it?’ Do you wanna book Stagecoach?’ I was like, ‘Yeah let’s do it.’ We dove in, and then I almost passed out like, ‘What is that even gonna feel like?'”

Luke is working on getting a little more at ease on stage. He said, “I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m getting to the point where a few songs in, I’m loosening up, and I’m really enjoying it. And then by the end of the set, I’m having a blast. Which definitely wasn’t the case the first few times. I think like anything else, it takes time to get good enough and seasoned enough to be able to enjoy it and really put on a great show.”
He added of his fellow country stars, “These people have been doing this for years and years and if I want to get there, I’m gonna have to put in that work. You want to do a really good job, you want to put on a good show and you want people to leave there having had a good time. I put a lot of pressure on myself hoping I am able to do that.”
Starting in November, he will be playing shows in Columbus, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Dallas, Boston and more. Tickets will be on sale at www.lukegrimesmusic.com tomorrow (9/22) at 10 AM local time.
