Florence Pugh Says Indie Film World Is Upset W/ Her For Joining MCU
Florence Pugh recently revealed that she thinks the Indie film world is angry with her for joining the MCU.
Following her breakthrough performance in William Oldroyd’s British independent drama Lady Macbeth, Pugh rose to prominence and eventually attained global notoriety for her appearances in the sports drama Fighting with My Family, the horror thriller Midsommar, and Greta Gerwig’s historical drama Little Women.
She joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe and played Yelena Belova in the movies Black Widow and Hawkeye, and she’ll be reprising the character in the upcoming Thunderbolts.
Pugh said, “So many people in the indie film world were really p**sed off at me. They were like, ‘Great, now she’s gone forever.’ And I’m like, ‘no,’ I’m working as hard as I used to work. I’ve always done back-to-back movies. It’s just people are watching them now. You just have to be a bit more organized with your schedule.”
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
