It was not the trip to Las Vegas that one man had in mind. Another visitor had a ton of cash and jewelry stolen from them.
37 year old Taelar Durbin allegedly set a top score with a heist in excess of $100,000. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Durbin stole casino chips, cash, and a really fancy watch from a visitor’s hotel room at Caesars Palace.

How did this Las Vegas visitor get his stuff stolen?
According to Metro, the victim met Durbin and another woman at the casino and he was offered a neck massage for $100. He got it, but wasn’t impressed by it. She offered to provide a little more with her friend upstairs in his room and he accepted. Ah, a tale as old as time.
His friends were staying in the bedroom, and he dropped them off in the room and headed back to the casino, according to the report. Why? Who knows. But soon he was getting a call from his friend to stop them in the elevator before they got away.
According to the report, the women started touching one of his friends, and he asked them to stop. They went into the bathroom for a bit and came out after being requested to leave. As they did he realized the safe was ransacked of a ton of casino chips, a watch, jewelry, cash and more. It all happened relatively quickly with video surveillance showing the women entering the room at 6:24am and leaving by 6:41am.
Good news… they caught her! Bad news… they didn’t get everything back
When Metro got the case, they recognized the woman. She was spotted as a passenger in a Mercedes with someone else, Emmett Weathersby, driving, and they sped off. Metro checked out their home elsewhere in Las Vegas, they returned and were busted. In the house they found some of the stolen goods.
Over $21,000 in casino chips from Caesars, over $31,000 in cash and a ton of guns. Durbin is facing the grand larceny charges, and her friend Emmett is facing charges for all those guns. Turns out he’s not supposed to have them.
How to avoid being a Las Vegas victim of stolen goods…
If you don’t want to be victimized by fraudsters in Las Vegas, you may want to start with your wrist. The victim was reportedly wearing a Rolex Submariner. That watch ranges wildly in price but this one in particular was valued at $39,000. Not to mention gold jewelry valued at $15,000 and more. Your best bet? The only floss you should have on the casino floor is dental floss. Wear a cheap Old Navy shirt, lay low, and know that woman that is really into you at the bar probably isn’t really into you.
