Blake Shelton: What He Feels He Deserves To Take From ‘The Voice’

At a groundbreaking event for his "Ole Red" location in Las Vegas, Blake Shelton took some questions from the press. He was asked what he wanted to take from The Voice when he leaves the show after the next season.

Blake said, "I feel like they owe me a damn chair. I don't know if they're gonna offer that or not. I mean, who else can sit in my chair? It's like the three bears, I don't want anybody else sitting in my chair. I'm gonna try to get that away from them. Maybe I'll have to buy it or something."

Shelton said he knows he isn't going to get to take his chair without a fight, though. "I'm sure they're gonna say, 'Well, the one thing you took was a lot of our money, so you should be happy with that.'" He notes that the chair may not go with the decor of the home he shares with Gwen Stefani. He said, "Well, that doesn't matter because it built the home, so it deserves a spot."

As we reported last week (1/20), Blake said at the event "If you are going to do something here, you've got to do it big. Every time I'm in Vegas, I want some country music, and Ole Red is the remedy for that."

"Ole Red" Las Vegas will sit in front of Caesars Entertainment's Horseshoe Las Vegas at the Grand Bazaar Shops on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. At approximately 27,000 square feet with a planned 686 seats, Ole Red Las Vegas is slated to be the brand's most significant location to date.

The Grammy awards named the Louvin Brother's Livin', Lovin', Losin': Songs of the Louvin Brothers as the Country Album of the Year, and Johnny Cash's 2002 album American IV: The Man Comes Around was named the CMA Album of the Year in 2003. Another album released in 2002, Alan Jackson's Drive, was named the ACM's Album of the Year in 2003.
