Miranda Lambert has made a new songwriting friend Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll just topped the country charts for the first time with his song "Son of A Sinner." By the looks of it, the two had a great time writing songs.

Miranda posted a couple of photos to her Instagram, one with her, Jelly Roll, and a songwriter named Telenitry. She wrote, "Made a new friend this week! Jesse was right when he said we go together like biscuits and gravy! Loved writing a tune with @jellyroll615 and @telemitry."

Fans were excited, with one commenting, "Yessssssss! Two of my favorite artists!!!" Another fan wrote, "Love Jelly Roll and Miranda Lambert." One more fan said, "Double trouble @mirandalambert and @jellyroll615 can't wait to hear the outcome."

When Jelly Roll scored his first country chart-topper a few weeks ago, he took to Instagram in a lengthy post he wrote, "There is no greater reward for a singer and songwriter in Nashville Tennessee than to have the #1 song on country radio. Now imagine that happening to a guy that grew up in this town… a guy that, at every turn, the first 25 years of his life, he made the wrong decision. Imagine everyone telling that guy he had no chance at country radio. 'You're too overweight, you have too many tattoos, they will never let another convicted criminal on country radio.' Now imagine country radio proving everyone wrong and taking the chance on the song, the message, and the man."

He continued, "If you can imagine that, then you can understanding why I'm so filled with gratitude as tears stream down my face while I type this; I currently have the number 1 song on country radio. Thank you to my fans who called and requested this song at their local radio station and celebrated like I did the first time they heard it played— I do this for y'all. Thank you, Country Radio and all the DSPs, for making Son of a Sinner my first number 1 at country radio. I vow to never let you down or forget the chance you gave me when everyone told you not to!"

He concluded, "I want to take a second to thank my label STONEY CREEK, AND BMG- Loba and his misfits — y'all took the biggest chance- every label in town told me I had a better chance signing with a label in LA than to ever have a chance in this town with my history — not only did that not scare BMG it made them want to double down and go all in!"

The phrase "Grammy darlings" applies to artists that Grammy voters love and seem to get all the nominations and awards. In country music, it is quite evident in the last 15 years or so who are the darlings of country music at the Grammy Awards: Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves.

Nominees this Year for the Grammy for Best Country Album of the Year are Luke Combs for Growin' Up, Miranda Lambert for Palomino, Ashley McBryde for Ashley McBryde Presents Lindeville, Maren Morris for Humble Quest, and country icon Willie Nelson for his album A Beautiful Time. As the February 5th Grammy Awards approach we take a look at winners in that coveted category through the years.
