Shania Twain Talks About Getting Over Cheating Ex
Shania Twain is finally opening up about her painful first marriage and how she got over his affair.
Twain and producer Robert “Mutt” Lange were married in 1993 but ended things in 2008 when she discovered he had an affair with her pal, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.
The singer and Thiebaud’s husband, former Nestle exec Frederic Thiebaud, found solace with one another and eventually fell in love.
“That is a really strong bond that builds over time, that is rare, that you don’t have in every relationship if you don’t have those deep scars in common, we were a big part of each other’s healing,” Twain said of their relationship to PEOPLE.
