The 56th Annual CMA Awards kicked off tonight (11/9) with a tribute to country icon Loretta Lynn. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Reba all performed. The tribute kicked off with Loretta's acceptance speech when she won the Entertainer of the Yera honor in 1972.

Carrie started the tribute in a "ready for the Opry" rainbow dress, singing "You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man." Miranda Lambert then joined her on stage singing in a black rhinestone mini skirt singing Lynn's "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)."

Reba then joined them to sing "You're Looking At Country" while the camera flashed to Keith Urban, who sang that very song at Lynn's memorial service on October 30. Then Carrie, Miranda, and Reba sang Loretta's "Coal Miner's Daughter" as the camera flashed to Lynn's daughter Patsy in the crowd, who got emotional.

Lynn passed away on October 4 at her home near Nashville. She was laid to rest at her family cemetery on her ranch grounds in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on October 7. Close to 100 guests were in attendance for a private graveside burial service.

Around 11 am CT, Lynn was transported from the mansion to the family cemetery in a black hearse, and a handful of fans were at the property gate to lay flowers and watch the black hearse. The Humphreys County sheriff led the hearse and was followed by a train of vehicles with loved ones inside.

The ACM Honors were held in Nashville this week at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium and the stars hit the red carpet for the show honoring Shania Twain, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, and more.

Fox will air the show on September 13, 2022, but so much of the show took place outside where the stars gathered with one another and met up with fans cheering them on.
