Katie Couric Reveals She Has Breast Cancer
Katie Couric shared on her website that she has breast cancer.
She titled the essay, Why NOT Me?
She said she found out on June 21, 2022-the day of her 8th wedding anniversary.
Katie shared that her doctor reminded her she missed her 2021 mammogram. When she went for her 2022 mammogram she was filming it as she had done before for her colonoscopy. Her doctor asked her to stop filming and that is when she found out.
Katie wrote, every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States.
She said she is sharing her story as we approach October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to encourage women to get their mammograms.
