Shooting Suspect Barricades In Las Vegas Apartment, Causes SWAT Standoff
An alleged shooting suspect barricaded themselves in an apartment on Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive on Monday afternoon, according to Misael Parra Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Public Information Officer.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident around 2:50 p.m. Monday. The suspect was involved with a shooting that occurred earlier in the day.
“This is a barricaded subject event,” Parra said. “We responded out to a report of a person that was shot. That person was transported to UMC (University Medical Center) with non-life threatening injuries.”
Police believe the alleged suspect barricaded themselves in an apartment complex located on Durango Drive. SWAT and other crisis negotiators were on scene, Parra said.
Durango is closed in both directions between Edna and Eldora Avenues.
