Elementary Schoolers Can Give You A Pep Talk!
All it takes is one simple call to a number from your cell phone, how cute is this??
The Peptoc Hotline was the idea of art teacher, Jessica Martin, our of Healdsburg, California. Now, they are getting well over 300-400 calls an hour. The Peptoc Hotline features the students of West Side Elementary and it features both an English and Spanish option as well. They recorded their students sharing some seriously encouraging messages that will help even the toughest of days get a little bit easier.
Both Asherah Weiss and Jessica Martin were interviewed for CBS Sunday Morning, you can see that interview and entire story below.
You can call 707-998-8410 to hear it for yourself!
When you call, you will be greeted by an elementary school student taking you through your options! “If you’re feeling mad, frustrated or nervous, press 1,” says the directory. It continues, “If you need a pep talk from Kindergarteners, press 3… If you need to hear kids laughing with delight, press 4,”
The traffic to the phone line became overwhelming so a GoFundMe was created to help keep up with the amount of traffic. If you would like to, you can donate here. At the time this story was written, they have raised over $26,000 of their $40,000 goal.
On YouTube, they created a little sample of what you would be getting if you call their PepToc line at 707-998-8410.
Jeff & Aimee In The Morning have been obsessed with this and decided to use it for their Hats Off story. Take a listen to them talk about it on air on March 15th, 2022.
