In a silent plea for help, a locksmith doing a routine job saved a woman's life.

Greg working in Midway, Utah, was doing a routine job when a woman kept showing him her hand. The woman had written '911' on it.

"Being a locksmith, I have been involved in some, some domestic situations, but nothing quite like this," said Greg in a KSTU interview.

The woman had been trapped in her own home by her ex-boyfriend Nielsen Eggertsen. The kidnapper was upset that the woman had a new boyfriend so he forced himself into the home and even assaulted her, according to CNN.

Eggertsen was never a foot away from the woman and would only let her use a phone with his permission.

However, all of that would change with the woman's silent plea for help. While the woman and locksmith Greg discussed payment she showed him her hand again.

"So obviously, that drew some attention from me. But I was wearing a mask, so I couldn't mouth anything to her or anything," Greg told said Greg in a KSTU. "She's showing me the '911' again, kind of making sure that I saw it. And I made eye contact with her, to basically let her know that yeah, I saw it."

After getting advice from a friend in the FBI, Greg called authorities about the suspicious situation.

Wasatch County deputies showed up at the home and immediately arrested Eggertsen. Officials charged him with aggravated kidnapping in the course of committing unlawful detention, criminal trespass and assault, according to CNN.

"The lady was pretty smart to be able to do what she did," said Greg in a KSTU interview. "And so, it's not like I was trying to guess what was really going on. She gave me some great clues that there was an issue there."
