Watch: 89-Year-Old Pizza Deliveryman Left In Tears After Getting A $12K Tip

If there's one thing that can bring a smile to someone's face then it's the joy of eating a fresh pizza!

89-year-old Derlin Newey from Roy, Utah is a Papa John's Pizza delivery man that brings something more than just pizza, he brings joy by being himself.

Carlos Valdez and his wife instantly fell in love with Derlin for his cheery attitude and his lovely catchphrase "Hello, are you looking for some pizza?"

Derlin's positive outlook on life even inspired the Valdez's to make a TikTok account from all of his deliveries. With 61K followers, Derlin was a hit online!

However, users on TikTok raised concerns about Derlin working so many hours at 89-years-old. He works about 30 hours a week because he can't afford to pay his bills off of his social security retirement, according to KLS.

"Collectively as a TikTok community, we all came together, and we were able to raise $12,000 for this amazing person," said Valdez, in a KLS interview.

Last Tuesday, Valdez delivered the huge tip and left Derlin in absolute tears.

"How do I ever say thank you? I don’t know what to say," said Derlin.

"He needed this. I’m just glad we could help him. We just need to treat people with kindness and respect the way he does. He stole our hearts," said Valdez.
