Downtown Las Vegas is helping to feed anyone in need with a simple idea in mind. "Take what you need, leave what you can."

Local John Chou started Las Vegas Town Fridge to "help those who can't make it to food banks or wait in the long lines."

The free community fridge works by anyone donating food 24/7 and allowing anyone to take what they need. It's located on 1010 N. Main St.

After struggling to find a business partner, Las Vegas Town Fridge partnered with United Movement Organized Kindness to continue the project.

Once a resident donated a fridge to house the food, the Las Vegas Town Fridge then continued with the help of community volunteers.

Chou hopes to inspire others to create their own community fridge and donate their food, he said in a KTNV interview.
