Luke Combs Performs New Song On The Grand Ole Opry With No Audience

Luke Combs joined Craig Morgan on Saturday (4/25) for the Grand Ole Opry. It was the 7th consecutive show with no audience; the performers sat six feet apart on the famous stage.

Craig Morgan started off the night by saying that he and Luke will be able to look back and say we did the Grand Ole Opry during the pandemic. Luke said, "Right now it's definitely weird though, it's so quiet."

Combs then recalled that as the pandemic hit in February he and his band we "ushered" out of Europe. He then performed what he called one of his favorite and most personal songs ever, "Beautiful Crazy."

Singing songs back and forth, Morgan brought up songwriting and what they have put down on paper while home during the pandemic. Luke said, "I've written a ton of stuff to be honest with you" noting that he wrote one in January that didn't have a title but that he said was "just fun."

While the brand new song didn't yet have an official title, it had the lyrics "When guys like me lose girls like you, that's where we go" to which Craig suggested Luke title the song "Cold As You."

Combs then introduced another new song that he wrote saying, "I've been home like all of you guys and every day is different and the same at the same time and sometimes I'm in a great mood and sometimes I'm not and I decide to write a song about all this stuff. I wrote it last week, it's called 'Six Feet Apart.'"

Luke posted to Instagram over the weekend, "Recorded 'Six Feet Apart' this week. Out next Friday, May 1 on all streaming platforms."
