Teenagers might find it thrilling to sneak out of the house at night, but some tourists are paying the price for breaking the Coronavirus lockdown.

Uttarakhand Police in India says it handed down an elementary punishment to a group of tourists for lounging around a popular spot in the Ganga River, breaking the country's lockdown.

The police forced the tourists to write "I didn’t follow lockdown. I am sorry," at least 500 times, according to the report.

If the group of tourists didn't follow commands then they were threatened "they will be blacklisted, which will bar them from entering India again," said Vinod Kuma, of Uttarakhand Police.

The group of tourists understood and wrote out their punishment.
