It's all hands on deck for the fight against COVID-19 worldwide!
Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar re-registered as a doctor to join the country's COVID-19 response team.
Before making the jump to politics Varadkar was a general medical practitioner in the National Health Service. He spent seven years as a junior doctor at St. James’s Hospital and Connolly Hospital in Dublin.
Varadkar's new role will mainly take phone assessments to ease the load off of doctors.
“Many of his family and friends are working in the health service. He wanted to help out even in a small way,” said a government spokesperson.
