The documentary is just under 90 minutes, but a great deal about Taylor is revealed in that small amount of time. The film touches on Taylor's history with an eating disorder, her mom's health, that Kanye incident (again!), her political views, and the impossible standards she has to maintain by being a massive female superstar.
The film also does an excellent job of humanizing Taylor and showing small moments that make her relatable and almost normal. You see her cry, you see glimpses of her love for Joe, you see her nervous and unsure of herself, and you even see her eat a burrito (with chips in it for crunch, of course).
It did not take long for #MissAmericana to be the number #1 trending topic on Twitter as fans flooded to the social media site to discuss what they just watched. One fan wrote, "Internet conveniently forgets this side of Taylor Swift. The reason that she's this huge and this successful is cause she is first and foremost the best person. Shes been through sexual assault, body shaming, slut shaming. Enough now. Please." Another fan chimed in with, "AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO NEEDS TO GIVE HER A HUG?" Overall, fans are extremely pleased by the project.
Featured in Miss Americana was also a new song, "Only The Young." Listen below.
