I was mom shamed on social media for my parenting choices over the weekend. It comes with the territory of sharing my life on-air and online.

Parenting is the hardest job in this entire world. One that doesn't come with directions. My 11 year old is an extremely picky eater. I am always making two, sometimes three different dinners for our family. Friday night was no different. I made something for my husband and I, knowing my son wouldn't eat it, I made him plain chicken and mac n cheese.

About 40 minutes went by, I have cleaned up the kitchen, dishes are done and my son is still sitting at the table with a full plate.

I told him to hurry and eat to which he responded "It's gross. I am not eating it"

Game on, son! I told him he is going to eat it and he isn't getting down until he finishes it. He decided to challenge me to a stand off and I was not going to give up.

THREE AND A HALF HOURS later he finished his chicken. It wasn't pretty, but he finished it.

I shared the situation on social media because I know a lot of moms and dads have picky eaters in their family as well and honestly.. when I want to cry I laugh instead. I want moms to know that they are not alone.

For making my 11 year old sit at the table and eat his dinner I got mom shamed.

It doesn't matter what they said or thought about my parenting because I know that I love my son. If his biggest problem in life is that I made him sit at a table, and eat a home cooked meal with his family, I would say he is doing pretty good.. and so am I.

Before you judge anyone on their parenting remember nobody does it perfectly. We are all out here just trying to survive and raise good human beings.

Just be kind and eat your dinner!
