Taylor Swift Shades Leonardo DiCaprio On ‘Lover’ Track & Twitter Can’t Handle It
Sure, fans know that Taylor Swift’s new album Lover is a love letter to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, but it’s another man Swift mentions on the album that has Twitter going crazy. The internet stans a queen that lives for the drama and she’s bringing it with a Lover lyric about Leonardo DiCaprio.
DiCaprio gets shade thrown his way on “The Man,” a track that looks at sexist double standards. On the track, Swift specifically sings about being judged for her dating history. While she’s been criticized in the past by those who think she’s dated too many men, guys are celebrated for it. Specifically, she calls out DiCaprio’s history of dating young models, which is just a fun fact about the actor at this point in his career.
If she was a man, Swift sings, “They would toast to me or let the players play/ I’d be just like Leo in Saint-Tropez.”
As one fan pointed out, “Taylor Swift mentioning Leonardo DiCaprio as the definition of a double standard in ‘The Man’ literally just made my entire day.” While another fan joked, “If ‘The Man’ killed Leonardo DiCaprio do NOT prosecute Taylor Swift. she caught HIM slipping. that is on HIM.”
Someone else made a special request: “Can @LeoDiCaprio please listen to The Man by Taylor Swift.” Seriously, we’d love to know his thoughts.
Can @LeoDiCaprio please listen to The Man by Taylor Swift
