Blake Shelton talked about the future of his music at a party that was held in Nashville last week to celebrate his latest single "God's Country" hitting number one.

He told a group of journalists before the party got underway, "Everything is icing on the cake for me at this point and all I want to do is make the records that I want to make with the people I want to make 'em with. Outside of that, I don't care how they package them or what they do with it."

Shelton said he's glad he found the new duet with Trace Adkins called "Hell Right." "I'm glad we're not up here right now talking about this album coming out because if that was the situation I probably wouldn't have this new song that we're super pumped about that will probably be next, it seems like it."

Blake said just before ending the interview, "I'm just having a blast with it. So, yeah, we have a ton of stuff recorded. Will all of it see the light of day? The way the music industry works these days, probably. I don't know when or how."

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
