A Note From Jeff from Jeff and Aimee In The Morning!

What an amazing season for our Golden Knights. In their second season, they find themselves once again in the Stanley Cup Playoff. We are not a fluke or a one-off, nope, we are here to stay.

We are on the map. Visiting players, including the Sharks' Logan Couture, have said that Vegas fans are possibly the "best fans in the NHL." Two years ago, most locals thought "icing" was simply what goes on top of a cupcake.

People are talking about Vegas not because of "Sin City" but because we are sports town now. That's a win in itself, take that with you and smile.

Now for Game 7 against the San Jose.

Let's make one thing clear, I am not a hockey referee. I'm not certain if that should have been a "Two-Minute Minor" or a "Five-Minute Major" and quite frankly, the only place I could tell you minor from major is on a piano. I'm not here to debate it... it happened already.

Yelling about it doesn't matter. This is the element of LIVE SPORTS. I was a baseball umpire for years starting at age 15. People make mistakes, that's just a part of what makes the game great. Sorry to give the honest truth but calls won't always go our way.

Now, let's do what I think everyone should, and be happy then move on.

Don't be sad that it's over, smile that it happened. Sounds cliche however that's the only way to get passed a crushing blow like this.

Imagine what our city would be like WITHOUT the Golden Knights, seems almost impossible, right? Well, it was a thing not too long ago and now our city has been forever bonded by our Golden Misfits. Keep in mind that only sixteen of 31 teams in the NHL make the playoffs. We were blessed with extra hockey after the regular season, seven spectacular and exciting games.

This morning, my emotions were raw. I was up LATE watching the game at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. Didn't sleep well. Got on the air at 5:30am and had this to say.

Let's not be bitter. Let's not be angry. Let's be Vegas Strong and continue to cheer for the team that we will have here for many years to come.

Thank you to our team and our city,

Jeff
