Lil Nas X really has the horses in the back since he just broke Drake's streaming record.
In a surprising announcement, Lil Nas X took to his Instagram account to say that Old Town Road broke Drake's streaming record.
The song now holds the streaming record with over 143 million streams.
Hip-Hop Rapper Drake previously held the streaming record with his song In My Feelings, with over 116 million streams, according to Billboard.
The 20-year-old Atlanta rapper got more support after Billboard decided to remove Old Town Road from the Billboard Hot Country Chart, according to CBS News.
Billboard pulled the song because it "does not embrace enough elements of today's country music to chart in its current version," according to a statement to Rolling Stone.
After much buzz about the controversy, Billboard decided to re-add the song to the Billboard Hot Country Chart. The song even inspired a remix with superstar Billy Ray Cyrus! (Click here to listen to the remix).
However, big acts like Florida Georgia Line and Dan + Shay say that the song IS country and a hit!
From the looks of it, Old Town Road IS country enough and here to stay.
Lil Nas X definitely now has the attention from artists everywhere. I mean, even Keith Urban covered the song!
