Luke Bryan and his family have a new family member as Luke and his wife Caroline adopted an 18-year-old senior dog named Poochie at the Proverbs 12:10 animal rescue in Nashville.

The dog was surrendered to the dog pound by a family who said they had developed allergies. “We are so thrilled for Poochie and know he is in great hands,” Lavonne Redferrin, the animal rescue’s director and founder, told People magazine. “Caroline Bryan has graciously given us updates on our sweet boy.”

The Animal Rescue said on Facebook, "After reading about Poochie on our social media, Luke Bryan and his beautiful wife, Caroline applied and adopted Poochie this past Saturday! He is loving life on the Bryan farm and soaking up all their love. Who knows, maybe Poochie will inspire a country song!"

Luke himself had just a few words to share on Twitter about the new family dog.

The dog will live at the Bryan farm near Nashville among the families other many animals.
